Brochures available in September. *LOS ANGELES CINEMA TOUR Saturday, March 6, 2010 A one day cinema tour of Los Angeles is in the works for Saturday, March 6th, the day prior to the 82nd Annual Academy Awards®. Invitations available this fall. *CINEMA SOCIETY MEMBERSHIPS A limited number of memberships remain for our 26th season of cinema, which begins September 22nd. Call the Cinema Society office at 619-280-1600 ext. 6 or visit our website at www.cinemasociety.com for information / application. *FREE SUMMER MOVIES AT LIBERTY STATION Introduced by Andy Friedenberg Summer Movie Mania comes to Liberty Station with Saturday night movies throughout August, with a grand finale Viewer’s Choice movie and concert by The Heroes on August 29. In an effort to introduce all of Liberty Station (in Point Loma at the former Naval Training Center) to San Diego residents and visitors, movies will be held in different locations throughout the neighborhood, giving patrons a chance to sample the many new dining opportunities, including Solare Ristorante at 2820 Roosevelt Road. The CINEMA SOCIETY OF SAN DIEGO is your ticket to discovering carefully selected motion pictures offered by the top major and independent studios before they are released to the public, along with celebrity salutes involving classics. Our evenings include guest speakers who are local experts in the subject matter of the film, critics and occasionally actors, directors or studio representatives involved with the film’s production. Our speakers share their expertise with you, providing a forum to discuss various aspects of the evening's movie. A typical CINEMA SOCIETY program includes a cinema chat, formal introduction, screening of a feature film premiere, classic, documentary and/or short subject followed by a discussion. For an additional fee, members are entitled to partake in numerous film oriented travel opportunities, hosted by Travel Planners, the official travel agency of the CINEMA SOCIETY, as well as other cultural events.
