ALIEN TRESPASS

Set in 1957, ALIEN TRESPASS chronicles a fiery object from outer space that crashes into a mountaintop in the California desert, bringing the threat of disaster to Earth. Out of the flying saucer escapes a murderous creature—the Ghota, which is bent on destroying all life forms on the planet. A benevolent alien from the spaceship, Urp, inhabits the boy of Ted Lewis (Eric McCormack)—a local astromomer—and with the help fo Tammy (Jenni Baird), a waitress from the local diner, sets out to save mankind.

Combining the look, feel and camp of those classic 50’s sci-fi classics like THE BLOB, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE, ALIEN TRESPASS is directed by R.W. Goodwin, Golden Globe winner for his work as executive producer of THE X-FILES. A Roadside Attractions Release, it opens commercially in San Diego on April 3rd.

Running Time: 90 Minutes Rated PG for sci-fi action and brief, historical smoking

Wow, what a blast from the past this movie is. I think that if you go in knowing this film is in homage to all the old Sci-Fi movies of the 50's then it will be a treat and if you really loved the likes of The Blob, The Day the Earth Stood Still and War of the Worlds, then you are going to be over the moon for this film.

I understand that for their time these types of movies were scary and creepy (and that if viewed now they might be seen that way but not for the same reasons).

For me personally it made me appreciate the better made movies I've grown up with (not that they are all great just better quality). I remember when my Dad first (proudly) showed me Forbidden Planet...I about laughed him off the couch, it was so hokey...I could see the string that was "zooming" the rocket across "space". I of course had been previously introduced to Sci-Fi by way of Star Wars, 2001:Space Odyssey and E.T., so I was a little unfair to the past.

If I could have given Alien Trespass a 3.5 I would have.

Sorry, just really didn't do it for me. It seemed that it didn't quite know what it wanted to be, it either needed to be more serious or else more funny, it just wasn't enough of anything.

Way to include a few former X-filers in the film.

Oh well, that's just one miss out of a many home run season for Andy.

The methods, ideas and material were entertaining, but wierd. It was like "Back to the Future." It was fun as I had seen all of them back then. "The Thing" was the one that gave me a real scare.

I don't think this would work more than once!
