25th Season Flashback

FOLLOW THE BITCH (Originally premiered at the Cinema Society in 1996)

DON’T FOLLOW ME...FOLLOW THE BITCH was on the t-shirts that all Society members received the night we premiered this charmer about a group of single guys who meet for their weekly, all male, all-night poker game. One of the regulars invites a woman (Liz) to join and she turns out to be a very good player. Things get more complicated when two of the guys (Ty and Gordon) confide to a third (Andy) that they’re having affairs with each other’s girlfriends. The host (Bill) tries to keep his weekly ritual intact as it begins to crumble around him.

Director Julien Stone and several of the FOLLOW THE BITCH cast and crew have been invited to join us this evening to celebrate one of the most outrageously funny films every presented at the Cinema Society.

Rated R for language

Running Time: 87 Minutes

Please Note: At 7:00pm in Auditorium 4 only this evening, Julien Stone, director of FOLLOW THE BITCH, introduces and screens his short film SINATRA: THE LOST TRACK.

Loved it. I gave it to my 25-yr-old son for Christmas, and he loved it. Totally unique, delightfully hilarious, great characters.

Reminded me of school project. Saving grace was having cast and crew. Else, a 1

Even better the second time seeing it. Meeting the stars was great too.

Hi Andy, just got home from Follow the Bitch and found my autographed tee shirt. I think this is my 4th time seeing this funny movie. I enjoyed it even more this time! I don't play poker, but thought that the writing of the movie was great. The actors did a good job. I loved the oven scene, it was very clever. Considering the budget, it was amazing. This is my 17th year of wonderful entertainment, thanks to you, keep it coming. You have given us an opportunity to view really fabulous movies that may never come out for distribution. You enrich my life. Fondly, Judie

I have to say that this is the BEST movie I have seen in months. It was well-acted, charming and kept me interested the whole time. So glad Andy brought it back so us "new members" of the Society could see it. Hope the producers make more.

What a sharp, clever, dead-on film! Terrific dialogue that rang completely true, fun, believable characters, this was a real "whatever the guy version of chick-flick" is and I'm a non-poker playing female and loved it! (If I had one criticism, it was that there's no way Liz could have smoked, drank and dealt her way through that marathon with her makeup so intact!)

Save me a DVD...this is one I'd love to share.

I almost fell out of my seat laughing. Having raised two sons and watching the dynamics while they play cards--well, let's just say it "rang true"! Hard for me to believe the star of the show was not a clone of Paul Giamatti. His performance was spot on. I found the writing to be sharp and engaging. Glad to know the director and Carl are working on another screenplay! I can only fantasize about how much fun it must have been playing Liz in the film. I'm coming back next week to buy several of the DVD's since I had to leave before they were out and available. Please save me a few!

Cheers,

Karolen

The bitch is wild, and so is whatever follows. That's how the game is played. Andy's woman friend precipitates an overnight reaction in a guys' poker group. Love the metaphor, but not the movie.
