Wish we could have loved it. It seemed to have all the pieces but we left the theatre wanting something more.

Nicholson & Freeman played to type in this film, no big surprise for the audience. The plot was thin, with impending death of both an overused vehicle, true in an overabundance of this season's films. Digital backgrounds paled when compared with the actual sites, in particular the pyramids which are surrounded by apartment complexes and businesses.

What a treat this was, though I know it will probably get “criticized” as being to schmaltzy, I don’t care. I thought the acting was superb. One can not fault this film for the actors...Jack is “Jack” and there is no one like him and Morgan Freeman is classic and genuine as always.
Though this is not a “Father/Son” movie (more of a buddy film for men “a little developed in years”) I really hope my husband will take his Dad to see this film (for the parachute jump alone…my FIL jumped at that particular flight/jump school in Perris at the “developed year” of 80). The film is tough at times in the beginning so I would error on the side of caution in recommending it to people who have gone through a severe illness.
I will be recommending this film....Andy,though you weren't there at the end of the film to see/hear the audience's response, there was a loud round of applause. Hope you made it back to P.S. safely!

An excellent movie. Many of us have wondered what we might do in such a situation. The subject matter was handled quite well with believable humor. The acting was great, as expected. I was well entertained.

Great movie! One of my favorites this season for sure. I loved the philosophical discussions mixed with the humor and great dialog. I agree that Sean Hayes had a terrific supporting role.
As a side note, I'm rather glad we did not get a hanky alert! It seems that for every movie that gets a hanky alert, my expectations are too high, and I come away thinking "well, that wasn't that sad!" and I'm somewhat disappointed that I wasn't that moved after all.

Thought this was a very fun movie. Lots of classic themes handled with humor and honesty. A couple of good "gotcha" moments, especially @ the end. I do have an issue with the bar scene. I would have liked that to have been written a bit better for MF character. Overall...terrific, glad I saw it! Thanks Andy

Andy should have given the hanky-alert for this one, it was a bit of a tear-jerker, but there were definitely more laughs than tears. Had to get choked up when Jack's character kisses the most beautiful girl in the world and even though the final scene started out with tears it ended with a laugh with the final words about it being illegal to be buried on Everest. Sean Hayes' Thomas character was a highlight as well.
